h1. Blog for the NAWDEX 2016 Campaign (HALO & Falcon)

This is the official blog for the NAWDEX campaign, a webpage that can be edited by all NAWDEX team members that are registered. The aim is to inform all NAWDEX participants and interested colleagues about the campaign and to share the planning material. If you need information about the international NAWDEX Project please refer to http://nawdex.org/ and for the HALO/Falcon Project please refer to http://www.pa.op.dlr.de/nawdex/

h3. Saturday, Sept 17, For 12/13 September 2016 (Ferry flights)

* *DLR Falcon*, Oberpfaffenhofen (Times given below
(all times are LT Germany = UTC + 2 h)
>06:00 --- Power on the aircraft (Nico)
>07:00 --- Power off
>07:05 --- Leave hangar / APU power / refueling (if not done already Thu or Fri)
>07:30 --- everyone not flying leaves aircraft
>08:00 --- Take-Off

* *HALO*, Oberpfaffenhofen (Times given below are LT Germany = UTC + 2 h)
>06:15 --- Power on the aircraft (Nico)
>07:00 (tbc) --- arrival of of flight crew, stowing of luggage
>07:40 --- Power off
>07:45 --- Leave hangar / APU power / refueling
>08:45 --- everyone not flying leaves aircraft
>09:15 --- Take-Off

>all day --- power on the aircraft for instrument work (Engelbert, Benni, Christian, Oliver)

* *HALO*

h3. Thursday, Sept 15, 2016:*

** *Falcon:* test flight at 14 LT --> done

** *HALO:* test flight at 11 LT --> done



* *Wednesday, Sept 14:*

** 08:00 --- HALO on the ramp for aircraft tests (until approx. 12:00, power available if required)

** afternoon --- HALO training flight (required) (time tbd; duration ca. 30 min; instruments have to remain off)

* *Tuesday, Sept 13:*

** 08:00 Installation of HAMP radar (Lutz, Heike, DLR-FX)

** 10:30 Web conference - Planning Meeting

** 15:00 Meeting at DLR-FX: final discussion on HALO/Falcon transfers

* *Monday, Sept 12:*

** 10:00 Installation of specMACS in the boiler room (Tobi, DLR-FX)

** 10:30 Web conference - Planning Meeting

** 13:00 Installation of HAMP radiometer (Mario, DLR-FX)

h3. First days in Iceland:

* *Mon, 12 Sep:* beginning of the planning meetings (daily meetings at 8:30 UTC until Thu, 15 Sep, then 11 UTC from Iceland)

* *Thu, 15 Sep:* arrival of HALO and most of the flight planning and instrument teams

* *Fri, 16 Sep:* setup of the operation center and offices at the airport, flight planning with an announcement of first plans for Mon 19 Sep

* *Sat, 17 Sep:* HALO and Falcon transfer

* *Sun, 18 Sep:* day-off

* *Mon, 19 Sep:* flight planning
